Hospital Appointments

The GP surgery is receiving a high volume of enquiries from patients waiting for hospital appointments. 
 
We know that waiting times can cause significant stress and frustration for our patients.
 
However GPs have no influence over hospital waiting times. 
 
Please help us by contacting the hospital directly, if you are waiting for an appointment. The link above has further details.

Hay Lodge Community Hospital

In response to the BBC News report on the 18th April 2024 about the potential withdrawal of medical cover in the local community hospitals, the GP’s at Tweed and Neidpath Practices would like to reassure our local community that this is not our intention. 

It states that “because of current GP workload it is feared that withdrawals (of hospital services) will happen in Peebles and Hawick.” At no point have GP’s from Tweed and Neidpath Practices considered withdrawing their services from Hay Lodge Community Hospital because of workload or for any other reason.
 
We view the hospital as a valuable community asset and wish to support the service.
