Training

GPs in Training (GP registrar)

The Tweed Practice and The Neidpath Practice are both approved to train fully qualified doctors who wish to specialise in general practice. Our GP trainees will have spent a minimum of 2 years of working as a qualified hospital doctor prior to joining us. They consult patients on their own, under the mentorship of our a GP trainer. Occasionally we ask permission to video or record a consultation. You will always be asked in advance and are given the option not to take part, and this will not affect your care in any way. No recording will be taken without your consent and the camera will be switched off on request. These videos are used only for educational and training purposes.

Foundation Year Two (FY2s) Doctors

The Neidpath Practice is involved in training Foundation Year 2 Doctors. These are fully qualified doctors who have spent an initial one year working within a hospital setting prior to joining the surgery for a four month period.

Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANPs)

The Tweed Practice is currently supporting the training of an Advanced Nurse Practitioner.
